Bio

Moving from Ohio to Los Angeles was life changing. It exposed me to people from many different backgrounds, cultures and lifestyles, enabling me to interact with established musicians, and to grow personally as a musician and composer.

In LA I became a fan of New Age and World music, meeting and becoming best friends with Charlie Adams, drummer for Yanni. At the same time, I played drums for Latin artist Darlene Yvonne, and studied with jazz drumming great Dave Weckl.  I also had the honor of studying with Roy McCurdy of the late Cannonball Adderley, and I performed with bands throughout LA, playing Jazz / Fusion and performance rock art.

I became friends with a guitar player and songwriter named Steven Moniz, who taught me to play guitar.  He also introduced me to song writing which I fell in love with, and we continue to get together today to produce music on guitar and keyboards/synths.

There were two events that were pivotal in changing my musical focus from playing drums to song writing. One was my purchase of a grand piano, and the second was discovering the world of synthesizers. I love composing on piano and then developing the music further via synths and virtual instruments.

Meeting Diane Arkenstone has furthered my exposure to New Age, Ambient Smooth-Jazz, and Contemporary Classical music, which has had an influence on my own musical style.

My earliest exposure to music was through my mother, father and siblings who all played musical instruments. I learned to play accordion from my father, then switched to drums and piano.

I developed a love for jazz early on and studied drums with a locally renowned drummer, Bob McKee. My teens were spent playing in Top 40 bands and also my father's wedding band, where I grew to appreciate old standards, and got to experience different cultural wedding celebrations.

I moved to Houston TX and performed with Country Western groups, then later toured the US with British entertainer Jon Washington (of the Fortunes), performing a wide range of music and cabaret.

Writing and scoring for visual medium the last three years, has become my primary focus and passion.  It allows me to express my deepest emotions through music, drawing on my collective experiences to define my unique musical style.

Along scoring for film, exploring the Hollywood classical style has lead me to write and orchestrate modern classical compositions.

I continue to write music in many genres, exploring all aspects of music creation, while holding a special love for the visual medium that allows the best emotional elements of visual, acting and music to come together.
